Heather Aldama's first WUSA goal lifted Boston to a 1-1 tie Thursday with visiting Washington before 8,105 at Nickerson Field, pulling the Breakers even with Atlanta atop the standings.

Aldama's 66th-minute goal answered Lindsay Stoecker's 63rd-minute strike for Washington (5-4-3, 18 points), which hasn't won in its past five games.

The Breakers (6-4-4, 22 points) have played two more games than Atlanta (6-2-4, 22 points), which plays Friday at Carolina.

Washington defender Emmy Barr and Boston winger Stephanie Mugneret-Beghe left the game in the first half with injuries.
