Reinaldo Navia netted his third goal in two Interliga matches, scoring in the 85th minute to complete Club America's comeback from a two-goal deficit in a 2-2 draw Tuesday night with Atlas before 12,235 fans in San Jose.

UNL Tigres destroyed Atlante's Copa Libertadores prospects in the second game of the Spartan Stadium doubleheader, overcoming an early deficit for a 3-2 victory.

The eight-team Interliga will determine Mexico's No. 1 representative in the Libertadores Cup. The champion will compete in Group 3 of South America's club championship, battling Cruzeiro (Brazil), Universidad de Concepcion (Chile) and Caracas FC (Venezuela).

Mexico's second Libertadores spot will be determined in a game late this month between the second- and third-place finishers.

Navia, signed at the end of December from Morelia, made his America debut on Sunday with two goals in the Aguilas' 3-2 victory over Atlante in an Interliga opener at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Juan Pablo Garcia set up Carlos Maria Morales' first-minute opener, then provided Atlas a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute. Cuauhtemoc Blanco's 77th-minute strike started America's comeback. Navia evened things four minutes after Atlas was reduced to 10 players, with Rodrigo Valenzuela sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

Both teams have four points and a plus-2 goal differential in Group B, but America is on top with four goals scored to Atlas' three. The group winner will advance to the Jan. 14 final at the Home Depot Center, and the second-place team will play in the third-place game.

Tigres, which finished second in the Mexican League's recently completed Apertura tournament, remained alive with its victory, but Atlante cannot finish in the top two.

Fernando Martel fired Atlante ahead in the 12th minute, but Tigres got a 29th-minute own goal from Jose Luis Gonzalez China and goals four minutes apart from Jesus De Nigris and Jose Mendoza early in the second half to open a 3-1 advantage.

Sebastian Gonzalez scored his second goal of the tournament in the 81st minute for Atlante.

Atlas' Mario Ruiz was red-carded in stoppage time.

The Interliga continues Friday with a pair of Group A games — Morelia vs. Santos and Guadalajara vs. Toluca — at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Group play will conclude Sunday with games in Houston and Dallas.

The Interliga is the second event produced by Soccer United Marketing, which is owned primarily by Major League Soccer investors Anschutz Entertainment Group, Hunt Sports, Kraft Group Sports and Kroenke Sports Enterprises, and by Dentsu, a Japanese marketing company. SUM's first event was the Women's World Cup, which made a reported $6 million profit. SUM also owned U.S. television rights for the 2002 World Cup.
