Elon University filled its womenÆs soccer head coach position by luring Matt Clark, a former indoor pro with 14 yearsÆ college womenÆs experience, from Southern Mississippi.
Clark had been head coach at Southern Miss since 2000, compiling a 33-32-4 record in four seasons following stints at Division III Trinity (Conn.) and at NAIA schools Huntingdon, Park and Auburn-Montgomery. His record in 14 seasons as womenÆs coach is 127-99-12. In five seasons as menÆs head coach at Trinity and AUM, he was 64-43-5.
Clark, who played in the old MISL as well as indoor leagues AISA and NPSL, replaces Paul Webster, who was hired at Division III Elmhurst (Ill.) College after nine years as Elon coach. Southern Miss has not yet announced ClarkÆs departure.
