Emily Burt scored in her second Russian League game and Darci Borski scored her second Norwegian League goal of the season last weekend.

Burt, who played for the Atlanta Beat and Philadelphia Charge of the WUSA, made her Supreme League debut in a FC Energy Voronezh's 1-0 triumph Thursday over CSK WWS. She netted the first goal, in the 26th minute, of Energy's 2-2 draw with Lada on Sunday.

Borski, also a former Charge forward, scored in the 26th minute of Asker's 3-2 victory Saturday over visiting Arna-Bjornar, 3-2.

Burt headed home a Sabrina Rashtetter cross as Energy (7-1-4) claimed the first phase of the Supreme League season, edging Lada (7-2-3) by a point. Both clubs advance to the championship round, which begins Aug. 26.

Burt, who earlier this month led the California Storm to the Women's Premier Soccer League title, played on the right flank and in central midfield, and caused havoc with penetrating runs in the first part of the Lada match.

Burt is one of three newcomers in Energy's lineup, along with Russian great Irina Grigorieva and German teen Rashtetter.

Lindy Melissa Wiik and Kjersti Thun added second-half goals as Asker (6-1-4) won its first game following the Toppserien's brief summer break and kept pace with Kolbotn (7-4-1) in the battle for third place.

Asker, with a game in hand of the leaders, is even with Kolbotn on goal-differential but has fewer goals, 39-24. Kolbotn padded its numbers with a 10-0 rout of Medkila, its first game since former Boston Breakers head coach Pia Sundhage resigned. Sundhage, a Swede, is working as a scout for the U.S. women at the Athens Olympics.

Trondheims-Orn (9-0-4) remains in first place despite needing to rally the past two weekend for ties with Floya and Klepp. Roa (9-2-1) also has 28 points — six more than Kolbotn and Asker — but trails on differential.

The leaders meet Saturday at Roa.

IN ICELAND, IBV (9-1-2) — with former Charge defenders Rachel Kruze and Mary McVeigh — shut out Stjarnan (3-0) and Thor/KA/KS (7-0) to move within two points of Valur (10-0-1) in the Landsbankadeild Kvenna race. Valur was home against last-place Fjolnir on Monday night.

Olga Faerseth had a hat trick in IBV's win Saturday over Thor/KA/KS and scored the first goal in Tuesday's victory over Stjarnan, giving her 18 this season.
