FC Honka, shut out in its previous three matches, exploded for five goals Tuesday in a 5-2 Finnish League romp at MPS.
Former Duquesne University defender Becky Barritt returned to the FC Honka backline, and she assisted Paula Hamalainen's 51st-minute goal that provided a 2-1 lead.
Elina Syrjala scored two goals for seventh-place Honka (4-5-4), which remained two points behind sixth-place Ilves (6-7-0) in the Naisten SM but climbed within four points of fifth-place MPS.
FC Energy Voronezh pulled out of the Russian Cup because of ''financial problems and numerous injuries,'' according to a post on the club's Russian-language Web site.
