After six seasons in Germany, Tony Sanneh is returning to MLS and joining the Columbus Crew. Sanneh, who played every minute of the USA's 2002 World Cup quarterfinal run, won two MLS titles while with D.C. United in 1996-98.

Sanneh has played for FC Nuremberg since 2001 and last season helped them clinch promotion to the First Division upon returning late in the season from a 16-month absence due to back and pelvis injuries. He started his German career with Hertha Berlin in 1999. He made 77 First Division and 7 Second Division appearances, and scored five German First Division goals.
