IBV and Stjarnan, both with two Americans on their rosters, look for spots in the Icelandic Women's Cup final four this weekend.
IBV, making its debut in the VISA-Bikar Kvenna, takes on lower-division Throttur Reykjavik in a quarterfinal match Friday. Former Philadelphia Charge defender Rachel Kruze hopes to make her club debut in the match alongside Mary McVeigh, who also played for the Charge.
Stjarnan, with former University of South Carolina defender Alison Jarrow and current Gamecock Sarah Lentz, is home Saturday against Fjolnir, the only team in Iceland's top division without a league victory. Jarrow scored two goals in Stjarnan's second-round win over IA.
Stjarnan is coming off its first league victory this season, a 3-2 triumph Tuesday over Breidablik.
FC Honka (2-2-4), with former Duquesne University defender Becky Barritt, faces last-place Kontu (0-7-1) in Finnish League action Sunday. Kontu's only point this season was won in a 1-1 tie at Honka on May 9.
Former Charge goalkeeper Hope Solo leads Kopparbergs/Goteborg (4-5-3) at Sjalevads IK (2-6-4) Sunday in a Swedish Damallsvenskan clash.
