After Portuguese midfielder Paulo Diogo scored for Swiss First Division team Servette in its 4-1 win over Schafthausen he jumped on the perimeter fence while celebrating. The recently married Diogo's wedding ring got caught in the fence and when he jumped down the top two joints of his finger were severed. Referee Daniel Etter cautioned Diogo for excessive celebration. Doctors at a Zurich hospital failed in their attempt to reattach the finger.
