Every MLS player with an Hispanic surname has been rumored as a possible CD Chivas USA pick in FridayÆs expansion draft, and among those prime candidates are Ryan Suarez of Los Angeles and Ramiro Corrales of San Jose.
However, ChivasÆ possible acquisition of Suarez and Corrales is complicated by the fact their MLS contracts expire Dec. 1 and both have lined up trials with foreign clubs. And neither has been left unprotected by their teams.
Corrales, who was a childhood fan of Club America and whose family roots are in Sinaloa, is has been invited by the First Division Dorados for a trial. Suarez also has a trial lined up with a Mexican club and through an acquaintance of former Mexican national team coach Javier Aguirre will train with Spanish League club Osasuna, which Aguirre is coaching with some success, sometime in the next month.
A source says Orlando Perez of the Fire, who was left unprotected, is definitely bound for Chivas.
REMINDER: ESPN News will carry the opening stages of the expansion draft Friday starting at 4 p.m. Eastern. The draft will consist of 10 rounds and no team can lose more than three players. Teams can list 12 players on their original protected lists and may add one more player to the protected list for each player picked.
