6. YOUTH: Rick Davis named AYSO’s acting National Executive Director

Rick Davis, the U.S. and NASL star of the late 1970s and early 1980s, has been named acting National Executive Director. Davis, who played for the New York Cosmos and in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, started his youth soccer career with AYSO.

Davis, who has served as AYSO’s Director of Programs for the American Youth Soccer Organization the past three years, replaces Richard Smith, who is leaving the National Executive Director post after two years to become Executive Consultant to the AYSO National Board of Directors.
