Jose Antonio Reyes has made the boldest proclamation yet of his wish to leave Arsenal for Real Madrid. The Spanish international winger said Tuesday that he doesn’t even wish to return to training with Arsenal. That’s bold considering Real Madrid is still locked in negotiations with his current employer. The striker may want out and Real Madrid might also want him, but there’s no other market for the player Arsenal is rumored to want $25 million for. Real’s $15 million offer was promptly met with a “the player is not for sale” from Arsenal vice chairman David Dein. “If agreement isn’t reached, it will be bad for Arsenal and bad for me,” Reyes said. Nothing is likely to happen now until the player returns from international duty tomorrow to train for their first game against Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium. “My intention was not to go back and get involved in training with Arsenal. I am waiting to go to London on Wednesday and to return [to Spain] quickly to begin a new stage [in my career], Reyes said, adding that he notified Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger of his intention to leave.
