The lowly New York Power, eliminated from the WUSA playoff chase last weekend, overcame a two-goal deficit in the final seven minutes Wednesday, rallying to upset first-place Philadelphia, 3-2, to snap a record nine-game losing streak and claim only its third victory of the season.

Washington took a step closer to a playoff berth — and Boston nearer to elimination — as goalkeeper Siri Mullinix made 12 saves in a 1-1 draw.

New York's Tiffeny Milbrett scored two goals, including the 87th-minute winner, to hand Philadelphia (10-2-4, 34 points) its first loss in 11 home games and end the Charge's 10-game unbeaten streak, which tied a league record.

Philadelphia remains on target to clinch a playoff berth by the end of the month, and it could clinch home field for the semifinals with a victory on Saturday in Boston, a loss by Atlanta to Carolina, and ties or losses by San Jose (vs. New York) and Washington (vs. San Diego).

In Wednesday's WUSA action:

New York 3 Philadelphia 2: The visiting Power (3-13-1, 10 points) scored three goals in five minutes to upset the Charge (10-2-4, 34 points) before 7,469 at Villanova Stadium.

Milbrett came off the bench to score in the 83rd and 87th minutes and Emily Janss tallied in the 84th as New York overcame a 2-0 deficit forged on goals by Mandy Clemens in the 61st and Liu Ailing in the 79th.

Milbrett netted her ninth and 10th goals of the season to grab the top spot in the WUSA scoring race with 28 points — one more than Charge forward Marinette Pichon has.

Milbrett scored New York's first by firing over charging Charge goalkeeper Melissa Moore from 25 yards after forcing a Rebekah McDowell turnover. Janss netted her sixth goal a minute later, knocking in the rebound after Justi Baumgardt-Yamada struck the crossbar from 18 yards.

Milbrett took the ball into the box from the left and uncorked a rocket past Moore for the winner seven minutes later.

Washington 1 Boston 1: Mullinix made three diving stops in the first half and turned aside six shots in the final 19 minutes as the third-place Freedom (7-5-5, 26 points), extending its unbeaten streak to five games, overcame the visiting Breakers' domination to pick up a point before 5,847 at RFK Stadium.

Abby Wambach headed home a Pu Wei corner kick in the 25th minute to put Washington ahead, but fellow rookie Alexa Borisjuk beat Mullinix to the far post after Kristine Lilly threaded a 30-yard pass to her 11 minutes into the second half. Lilly extended her points streak to seven games.

The Breakers (4-8-6, 18 points), on the verge of elimination, outshot Washington, 23-12, but Mullinix was sensational. Her 12 saves were one shy of the WUSA record she set earlier this season.

The Freedom's magic number to clinch a playoff berth is 11 points.
