Former UCLA forward Seth George has come to terms with the Los Angeles Galaxy. George, who was selected by Los Angeles with the 13th overall pick in the 1999 College Draft, had been in Germany with 1860 Munich’s reserves before opting out of his contract and returning to California. He has been training with the Galaxy since. “Seth is a player that was a proven goalscorer in college and we hope that he can bring some of those talents to the Galaxy,” said L.A. coach Sigi Schmid, who also coached George at UCLA. George made his MLS debut in Los Angeles’ 2-1 over Chicago on June 12, playing eight minutes as a second-half substitute for Carlos Hermosillo. To make room for George, Los Angeles waived former SMU defender Tony Soto. In addition, the Galaxy waived forward Lawrence Lozzano to make room for Hermosillo, who made his season debut on June 12 as well.
