U.S. women’s national team coach Tony DiCicco has named his 20-player roster for the next four matches on the NIKE Road to Pasadena tour, two each against China and Japan, as he nears his final selections for the 1999 U.S. Women’s World Cup Team. The Road to Pasadena will take the USA to nine cities before beginning Women’s World Cup play on June 19 against Denmark at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. DiCicco will use the same 18 field players for all four matches, the only changes coming at the goalkeeper. U.S. starter Briana Scurry will be on the roster for all four matches. Saskia Webber will be the back-up goalkeeper for the China matches on April 22 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pa. (Kickoff at 7 p.m. ET) and April 25 at Giants Stadium in New Jersey (Kickoff at 4:30 p.m. ET on espn2). DiCicco will then replace Webber with both Tracy Ducar and Siri Mullinix to face Japan at Ericsson Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. on April 29 (Kickoff at 7 p.m. ET) and in Atlanta, Ga. at Dekalb Memorial Stadium on May 2 (Kickoff at 2 p.m. ET on espn2).
