Chicago Fire general manager Peter Wilt and forward Ante Razov were among the Fire delegation that traveled to Morelia on Monday to finalize a partnership between the MLS club and Los Monarcas.
Included in the agreement are open exchanges of first-team players and coaches and of youth team players from the Fire Academy and Fuerzas Basicas de Monarcas.
The clubs also plan an outreach program to benefit recreational leagues and the Michoacano communities in the USA and Mexico, including joint soccer clinics and player appearances.
Morelia was Mexico's Torneo Invierno 2000 champion.
