New Jersey high-schooler Heather O'Reilly scored twice in the first half-hour and University of Texas star Kelly Wilson added a hat trick as the United States tore up Denmark, 6-0, Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the first FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship in Canada.

The Americans improved to 4-0 in the tournament — outscoring foes, 21-1 — and will face European champion Germany in Thursday's semifinals in Edmonton.

O'Reilly was the fulcrum of a U.S. attack that finished off the Danes with two Wilson goals just before halftime before 4,800 at Centennial Stadium in Victoria, British Columbia. She took advantage of a poor clearance for an 11th-minute goal, then knocked home a rebound after Denmark goalkeeper Sarah Andersen stopped but couldn't hold onto a deft chip from the University of North Carolina's Lindsay Tarpley in the 27th.

O'Reilly hit the crossbar with a bending 25-yard shot in the 41st minute, then set up Wilson's 43rd-minute strike with a piece of brilliance. She beat a defender on the left wing, then ran at the goalkeeper, finally dishing it to Wilson to tap home after Andersen committed.

Wilson made it 4-0 two minutes into first-half stoppage time, again from O'Reilly. A perfectly weighted pass gave Wilson space in the box, and the Longhorns' sophomore beat a defender before curling her shot past Andersen.

Tarpley scored from a cross by Santa Clara University's Leslie Osborne in the 57th minute, and Wilson finished her hat trick 11 minutes later from Tarpley's feed.

Wilson has seven goals in four games, second in the tournament to Canada's Christine Sinclair, who has 10.

The Danes, who sought to keep things tight at the back and go forward via the counterattack, had one outstanding chance, but goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, a Florida high-schooler, dove to stop Ditte Larsen two minutes into the second half.

The Americans, who are 4-0 and have outscored opponents, 21-1, will take on European champion Germany in the semifinals Thursday in Edmonton.

In the other quarterfinals:

Germany 2 Japan 1: Linda Bresonik tallied three minutes into stoppage time to force overtime, then scored four minutes into the extra period to send the European Champions to the semifinals.

Bresonik, who earlier hit the crossbar from 18 yards, finished from an Alexandra Stegmann through ball to make it 1-1, then got behind the Japanese defense to flick the ball over goalkeeper Miho Fukumoto for the winner.

Canada 6 England 2: University of Portland All-American Christine Sinclair scored five goals — the final two in stoppage time — as the tournament host rolled into a semifinal assignment with Brazil. Notre Dame-bound Katie Thorlakson scored another.

Sinclair, who has scored 10 goals in four tournament games, headed home a corner kick from Penn State freshman-to-be Carmelina Moscato in the fourth minute, then finished a Moscato through ball in the 36th. She had a hat trick seven minutes into the second half, from a flicked-on free kick, then added the two at the end from close range.

SMU goalkeeper Erin McLeod made two sensational saves in the first half, when the Canadians were holding a one-goal lead.
