Daniela's dipping shot from the top of the box squirted underneath Australian goalkeeper Luisa Marzotto 10 minutes into overtime Saturday in Burnaby, British Columbia, lifting Brazil to the FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship semifinals with a 4-3 victory.
Marta scored her fourth and fifth goals of the tournament as the Brazilians, 4-0 in the inaugural under-19 World Cup, opened a 3-1 lead, but the scrappy Aussies got goals from Hayley Crawford in the 51st minute and Selin Kuralay on a penalty kick in the 59th to even things.
Marzotto made several heroic stops, including an 80th-minute parry of Cristiane's dipping shot and an 86th-minute lunge to deny Daniela and force an extra period.
The Brazilians advance to play in Thursday's semifinals against the winner of today's Canada-England match.
The United States, which romped over England, Australia and Chinese Taipei to reach the quarterfinals, takes on Denmark today in Victoria, British Columbia. The victor gets Germany or Japan.
