The U.S, women's national team will meet Germany for the first time since their semifinal match in the 2004 Olympics when they face off in the final of the 2005 Algarve Cup Tuesday in Portugal.

The Americans beat Finland, 3-0, and Denmark, 4-0, to finish Group B with a perfect record.

Forward Christie Welsh scored two first-half goals and Abby Wambach added a third in the 52nd minute as the Americans shut out Finland.

U.S. captain Kristine Lilly scored two goals, and forwards Abby Wambach and Christie Welsh had one apiece as the U.S. team roared into the title game with a big win over Denmark.

The Finland game marked the first career caps at the senior level for 18-year-old forward Amy Rodriguez, who came on at halftime, and 22-year-old defender Lindsey Huie, who played the final 15 minutes at left back.

It will be the sixth Algarve Cup final for the USA, which has won the last two Algarve Cup tournaments and three overall.

QUOTABLE

''It was a game where we got the goals and we were able to get a lot of young players some experience in international competition. Today was a great team day. You play well, you win and you also get to play a lot of your young players and rest some of your veterans. Any minutes off we can get for Boxx and Lilly will help in the next two games in the tournament and resting Aly (Wagner) and (Lindsay) Tarpley for a half as well means they will be fresher for the Denmark game.''

— U.S. interim coach Greg Ryan on the Finland victory.

''We knew Denmark had a very strong attacking team and were very good with the ball. I think the main thing I was happy with was that our team defending created opportunities for us to attack. We were able to win the ball in their half and create fast opportunities off the break. I think we kept the pressure on Denmark throughout the match and for us that's very important.''
