[OFF THE POST] Theo Walcott, the 19-year-old Arsenal striker who has scored three goals in six England appearances, is supporting a DVD campaign encouraging mothers to breastfeed their babies. Walcott, whose mother is a midwife, said she’s “always telling me that one of the reasons I’m such a good footballer is because I was breastfed.”
“I always like to claim that Theo’s speed, coordination and eyesight and all those things are down to being breastfed,” said Walcott’s mother, Lynn, 46. “I like to think it set him up for life.”
Theo’s sister, Hollie, a 24-year-old mother of two, is featured in the DVD, “From Bump to Breastfeeding,” that will be given to 600,000 moms.
