On Saturday, Barcelona could be crowned Primera Liga champions for the 19th time. It could do so without kicking a ball if second-place Real Madrid fails to beat Villarreal at the Madrigal.
The Champions League finalist, which routed Athletic Bilbao 4-1 to lift the Copa Del Rey (King's Cup) on Wednesday, is on track to win a historic treble. The club holds an eight-point advantage in the league standings over Real Madrid with three matches left. Madrid has second place assured but got battered 6-2 and 3-0 in its last two outings. Even if Real Madrid wins, Pep Guardiola's club needs only a point from their trip to Real Mallorca on Sunday to complete the job.
"We are taking it one step at a time and on Sunday we'll be looking for the second title," Barca defender Gerard Pique said after their cup final victory.
