[OFF THE POST] Uli Hoeness, general manager of German power Bayern Munich, lashed out at Chelsea owner and Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich when asked by German Web site Spox.com about what bothers him: “I’m angered when once a week I fill up my gas tank. This oil mafia pulls the money out of my pocket to buy soccer players. It stinks and this goes for Mr. Abramovich, too.”

To the follow-up question, “So the Chelsea boss isn’t your friend?” Hoeness replied:

“No. This mafia controls the whole world and manipulates the oil price. I am not prepared to put up with it much longer.”

Asked what one can do about it, Hoeness said, “We have to beat teams like Chelsea on the field – that will be our compensation.”

Abramovich , whose net worth is estimated at $23.5 billion, became the owner of English club Chelsea in 2003.
