Binghamton opened its new $4.2 million Bearcat Sports Complex on Saturday night with a 3-0 win over Cornell before a record crowd of 1,862.
Scotsman Cameron Keith scored the first hat trick by a Binghamton player at the Division I level when he scored in the 21st, 84th and 86th minutes. The goals were the first for Keith since arriving from Keith of Scotland’s Highland League, where he was good enough to attract the interest of English club Nottingham Forest. Injuries limited his effectiveness for the first month of the college season.
The win improved BU’s record to 7-2-0. The Bearcats open play in the America East on Saturday against Boston University.
