Salvadoran fans intend to wear protective face-masks to Cuscatlán stadium on Saturday when Mexico plays their national team to mock the Mexicans about the swine-flu outbreak that was centered in Mexico.
“I do not care how they come out, if they make fun of us or not,” said Chicago Fire striker Cuauhtemoc Blanco, who was recalled to El Tri.
“I will play an important game, very important with the national team. That is what we are interested in, to play our game, not in what the people of El Salvador has to say.”
Blanco wasn’t too upset about the planned insult: “That is soccer and it is valid. They (fans) will come up with stuff to get to you. We have to shut them up and demonstrate that we are better than them. We want the three points and that is what we are going for.”
