[WORLD CUP 2010 QUALIFYING] None of the 22 players called into to training for Bolivia’s upcoming World Cup qualifying games showed up for practice in a boycott by the players’ union.

Bolivia is already eliminated, and plays already-qualified Brazil Oct. 11 and eliminated Peru on Oct. 14.

The union, Fabol, is demanding a single authority be in charge of the nation’s soccer instead of three separate bodies: The League (LFPB), the National Association (ANF), and the Bolivian soccer federation (FBF).

“Bolivian soccer is in a deep crisis and as long as our proposals are not put into practice, the whole country’s professional soccer players … indefinitely refuse to represent our national team,” read a Fabol statement.

The federation has not revealed what kind of team it will field if the players don’t end the boycott.
