Despite the fact they have yet to play an official game as part of Major League Soccer, Seattle co-owner Drew Carey will not let you refer to his Sounders as an expansion team. And when you think about it, they really aren’t, what with their multiple championship-winning coach, league-high season ticket-holding fan base, state-of-the-art stadium and well-planed lineup.

Unleashing on the uncertainty surrounding his former favorite team the Galaxy, Carey said he tells his LA friends, “You’re the ones scrambling to put a team together from scratch, didn’t know who was playing for you day-to-day. … They’re coming from a big mess, they’re the expansion team.”

But that wasn’t the only unusual idea coming from the comedian and “The Price Is Right” host, who plans to follow the model of Spanish powers Real Madrid and Barcelona in which “we’re willing to fire our general manager if the fans don’t like him. I think it’s fair,” added Carey.
