COLLEGE: Coastal Carolina's loss leaves No. 1 Wake as only unbeaten team

No. 1 Wake Forest (13-0-4), a 4-0 winner over Davidson, is the only remaining unbeaten team after No. 16 Coast Carolina's 2-1 loss to Winthrop.

Freshman Darrell Vydra scored in the 102nd minute to lead the Eagles past Coastal Carolina (15-1-2). Winthrop claims the top seed in next week's Big South tournament it will host.

It was a light midweek with Maryland, Virginia and UC Santa Barbara, the only other Soccer America Top 25 teams in action, all winners.

Weekend action is highlighted by the quarterfinal rounds in the Big East and Missouri Valley tournament.

No. 5 UCLA has a chance to clinch the Pac-10 title this weekend. It travels to No. 6 Cal Friday and No. 9 Stanford Sunday.

Florida International (Atlantic Soccer) is the only team to have clinched a berth in the NCAA Division I tournament.
