The University of Mobile won its first NAIA men's title when it beat Park University, 2-1, in the final at the Lovers Lane Soccer Complex in Bowling Green, Ky.
Mike Fricke and tournament MVP James Gledhill scored for the Rams, who had entered the nationals as the fifth seed.
Mobile upset top-seed Auburn-Montgomery, 1-0, in the semifinals on Teba McKnight's goal. AUM had beaten the Rams twice earlier in the season.
Host Lindsey Wilson's bid for a fifth straight title ended in the semifinals when they lost to Park, 4-3, on penalty kicks after the Pirates rallied for two second-half goals to tie LWC, 2-2.
