Long-time University of Portland men’s and women’s coach Clive Charles is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. Charles, the 2000 U.S. men’s Olympic team coach, will continue as Director of Soccer while he completes his treatment and recovery, said athletic director Joe Etzel. Assistant coaches Bill Irwin and Garrett Smith will assume day-to-day coaching duties.
