All-American Kerri Hanks scored the first three goals and assisted on the fourth in leading No. 1 Notre Dame to a 5-0 victory over Seton Hall Friday before another near-capacity crowd of 3,168.

Hanks, who scored 28 goals as a freshman, had endured plenty of near-misses early in the 2006 season. Her hat trick gives her 11 goals for the season.

Notre Dame has opened with 12 wins for the fourth time in the program's history.

After falling behind in the 2nd minute, No. 6 UCLA exploded for four unanswered goals to post a 4-1 victory over No. 10 Cal in the Pac-10 opener for both teams.

Freshman defender Lydia Cook tied the score in the 13th minute, and junior Danesha Adams, returning after a stint with the U.S. national team, put UCLA ahead in the 40th minute.

Freshman Lauren Cheney put the game away with two goals in the second half. Cheney leads the Bruins with 10 goals.
