Metro State defeated Grand Valley State, 1-0, on Kira Sharp's goal on free kick in the fourth minute of overtime to win the NCAA Division II women's national championship Saturday afternoon at Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla.
The national title is Metro State's second in three seasons. The Roadrunners won in 2004 over Adelphi.
