Kim Patrick, who starred in North Carolina’s 1999 Women’s College Cup championship, transferred to Tennessee, where she will play for UNC alumna Angela Kelly. Kelly, a Pleasanton, Calif., native who played two seasons in Chapel Hill, arrived in Knoxville for the spring semester and began classes on Jan. 10. “We are extremely excited about the addition of Kim to our program,” Kelly said. “She will bring a level of experience and determination that will take our team to the next level. As a national champion, I will look for her to lead our squad into a very exciting and promising season. She is a tenacious player who has a unique sense for the goal.” Patrick started in 14 of 26 games and scored 18 goals and six assists as a freshman. She came off the bench in the 1999 College Cup, in which she had a goal and two assists, but she come off the bench more often in 2000 to make room for freshman forward Alyssa Ramsey and junior forward Anne Remy. Patrick started in just six out of 24 games and scored nine goals and six assists as a sophomore.
