Brigham Young senior midfielder Aleisha Rose was selected to the NSCAA's All-America team for the fourth time, and four players from NCAA champion North Carolina also were honored.

Rose, a former U.S. national team standout, was a third-team selection for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's annual honors.

North Carolina was honored with two first-team selections (senior defender Catherine Reddick and sophomore forward Lindsay Tarpley), one second-teamer (sophomore midfielder Lori Chalupny) and one third-teamer (freshman forward Heather O'Reilly).

Two UCLA players (senior defender Nandi Pryce and sophomore forward Iris Mora, and two from Penn State (senior midfielder Joanna Lohman and sophomore forward Tiffany Weimer) were selected to the first-team.

Reddick and Lohman are three-time All-Americans. Reddick, Lohman and Tarpley are the finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the NSCAA's player-of-the-year award.

Selected to the team for the second time were Pryce, Tennessee junior defender Keeley Dowling, Boston College senior midfielder Sarah Rahko and West Virginia senior midfielder Lisa Stoia on the first team, Portland sophomore midfielder Lindsey Huie and West Virginia junior forward Chrissie Abbott on the second team, and Rutgers junior midfielder Carli Lloyd and Villanova junior defender Michelle Biehl.

Reddick, Pryce and Lohman were first-team selections in 2002.

Six schools, aside from North Carolina, UCLA and Penn State, saw two of their players honored. They are Boston College (Rahko and sophomore goalkeeper Kate Taylor), Illinois (junior goalkeeper Leisha Alcia and forward Tara Hurless), Notre Dame (senior forward Amy Warner and senior defender Melissa Tancredi), Portland (Huie and senior defender Imani Dorsey), Virginia (freshman defender Becky Sauerbrunn and sophomore midfielder Kelly Hammond), and West Virginia (Stoia and Abbott).

Sauerbrunn, a first-teamer, and O'Reilly were among three freshmen honored. Ohio State defender Melissa Miller was chosen for the third team.

The most glaring omissions were Santa Clara midfielder Leslie Osborne and Duke goalkeeper Thora Helgadottir.
