An upset loss to visiting Pepperdine drops Portland from second to sixth in Soccer America's College Women's Top 25 as much of the Top 10 remained unchanged.
Shutout victories over Oregon State and Oregon keeps No. 1 Stanford on top, with North Carolina moving up one slot to second following victories over Florida State and Virginia.
Texas (to No. 3), Santa Clara (to No. 4) and UCLA (to No. 5), also move up a spot, with No. 7 California, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 West Virginia and No. 10 Penn State holding steady.
There's plenty of change elsewhere in the rankings, with Pepperdine (from No. 18 to No. 12) and Charlotte (from No. 21 to No. 14) making the biggest leaps. The Waves' pulled off a 2-0 win at Portland; Charlotte remains unbeaten with wins over East Carolina and Duke.
Losses drop Wake Forest (from No. 11 to No. 15), Arizona State (from No. 17 to No. 20) and Tennessee (from No. 13 to No. 21) in the rankings, and Villanova (from No. 14 to No. 18) and Washington (from No. 19 to No. 25) find ties against lesser foes costly.
North Carolina State, which was 23rd, and Cal State Fullerton, which was 25th, fall out of the Top 25 following defeats.
No. 16 Maryland is ranked for the first time this season after drubbing George Mason and beating Clemson, and No. 24 Nebraska returns to the Top 25 after earning its third and fourth successive shutouts in one-sided wins at Texas Tech and Baylor.
