Sophomore Jackie Wishoski scored five goals and assisted another Tuesday as New Hampshire routed Northeastern in an America East Conference tournament quarterfinal.
The top two seeds in the Mid-American were upset as tournament play began in four conferences.
Chiara Best scored two goals and assisted one of Wishoski's as New Hampshire romped, 7-2, to reach Friday's semifinal against top-seeded Boston University, the AEC tournament host. Maine topped visiting UMBC, 3-1, in the other AEC quarterfinal and will face second-seeded Hartford.
In the MAC, top-seeded Eastern Michigan was upset by Bowling Green and second-seeded Kent State was beaten by Ohio University. Central Michigan, also playing on the road, knocked off Ball State.
Third-seeded Western Michigan will play host to the MAC final four after Jessica Pattison scored twice in a 3-0 romp over Buffalo. The Broncos will meet Bowling Green in a semifinal Friday.
Tara Flint scored a goal and assisted another as William & Mary topped visiting James Madison, 3-0, to advance to a semifinal against top-seeded Hofstra, the final four host, in the Colonial Athletic Association. George Mason scored two second-half goals in a comeback victory at Delaware in the other CAA quarterfinal.
Southeast Missouri State and Jacksonville State won quarterfinal matches in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Tournament play begins Wednesday in the Atlantic Coast Conference (at Cary, N.C.), Conference USA (at Charlotte, N.C.), Mountain West Conference (Salt Lake City) and Sun Belt Conference (Bowling Green, Ky).
The Mountain West Conference announced it was moving its tournament from Ute Field at the University of Utah to Rice-Eccles Stadium, also in Salt Lake City. Utah's field, covered in eight inches of snow, was deemed unplayable. Rice-Eccles, unlike Ute Field, has field turf.
