Todd Bramble, a former Clemson men’s assistant coach and most recently the head coach of the men’s team at Butler, has been named head women’s coach at Clemson. Bramble replaces Ray Leone, who resigned in December to become the head coach at Arizona State. Bramble served as Clemson’s top assistant under head coach Trevor Adair from 1995-99. He became the head coach of the Butler program in the summer of 2000 and directed that program last season. Prior to his career at Clemson, Bramble served under Adair as assistant coach at Brown in Providence, R.I., from 1991-94. Eddie Radwanski, who helped UNCG gain national prominence in menÆs soccer as an All-American midfielder in the 1980s, has been appointed womenÆs coach. He succeeds Jack Poland, the only head coach in the teamÆs 13-year history. Poland resigned his position Dec. 31. Radwanski, 37, captained UNCGÆs NCAA Division III champion menÆs teams in 1982 and 1983. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1985 MISL Draft and played professionally for a dozen years in indoor and outdoor leagues. He also has five caps as a member of the U.S. national team in 1985. His womenÆs soccer experience includes a season as coach of the Piedmont Spark of the W-2 League, three years as head coach and coaching director for the Twisters Soccer Club of Greensboro and a season as a volunteer assistant coach with the UNCG team in 1998. Former UTEP assistant Kevin Cross takes the head job vacated by Veronica O’Brien, who left to coach the new program at UC Riverside.
