Salve Regina’s men’s program has been suspended for five games as a result of an unspecified violation of department policies.
The suspension has been in effect since last Thursday when the Seahawks were scheduled to play at Western New England.
“After a thorough investigation into the incident, we have levied the penalties and provided education to the student-athletes,” Athletic Director Del Malloy said. “We will not discuss the incident or talk about any individuals, but we feel confident this group has a better understanding of our department policies and goals.”
The Newport, R.I., school was 5-3-1 before the suspensions.
