While D.C. United faces a serious uphill battle Tuesday night in Guadalajara against Chivas, MLS champ Houston Dynamo is perfectly positioned to qualify for the final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup following its 2-0 home win over Pachuca in the first leg of the semifinals. However, the team still has a serious job to complete before it can celebrate. Dynamo forward Alejandro Moreno says the team isn’t going to sit back. “We’re going to out and play our game and frustrate them a little bit,” he said. The Champions Cup, the CONCACAF equivalent of UEFA’s Champions League, would surely be the most impressive addition to the Dynamo’s brand new trophy cabinet. In fact, the team is playing fresh from another tournament win, a repeat victory at the Carolina Challenge Cup. Should the Dynamo advance, it will be guaranteed a berth at least to South America’s Copa Sudamericana.
