''Rocky'' star Sylvester Stallone is expected to be on the field Sunday to support Everton when the Toffees face Reading in England Premier League action on Sunday.
Stallone, who is in Britain to promote his latest film ''Rocky Balboa,'' is a friend of major Everton shareholder Robert Earl, founder of the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain. Everton plans on having him make an appearance on the field before the game.
''It is exciting news that Sylvester Stallone is coming to Goodison,'' said Everton chief executive Keith Wyness. ''I think of all the film stars around today, there are not many you can take on to the pitch at a sporting occasion and have some relevance. But Sylvester — and his part as Rocky — has a special place in the hearts of sports fans.''
Stallone, 61, starred in the 1981 soccer film ''Victory.''
