[OFF THE POST] When CSKA Sofia won the Bulgarian league title last season, fans eagerly anticipated a Champions League qualifying campaign. But the Bulgarian soccer federation stripped it of that right when it was revealed the club owed money to the National Social Security Institute, National Revenue Agency, and a host of other lenders.

CSKA Sofia president Alexandar Tomov, who has been charged with embezzling $5 million from the Bulgarian champions, took responsibility for the financial problems:

"I’m not going to blame any of my subordinates because I’m the leading figure and everyone stares at me. It is me and only me who is to blame."

But CSKA fans are not rushing to forgive Tomov. In fact, one supporter is suing him for $250,000, claiming the Champions League ban has caused him "immaterial damages."

Yavor Bluskov told reporters that he was crushed when he learned CSKA Sofia would not be rewarded for last year’s title.

"I’ll chase him until he pays me for the mental torment," he vowed.
