Mexico's Morelia, playing short-handed, eliminated the Chicago Fire from the CONCACAF Champions Cup last night despite falling to the MLS club, 2-1, in Naperville, Ill. Morelia's 2-0 first-leg win takes it through, 3-2, on aggregate and sets up a semifinal clash with the Kansas City Wizards. Morelia took the lead through Antonio Gonzalez in the 41st minute. ''We came up a little short,'' said Fire coach Bob Bradley. ''Obviously, the goal that they scored in the first half makes it harder. They are a good team.'' Playing with a man-advantage following Mario Ruiz's 45th minute ejection, Chicago came back on two goals by Dema Kovalenko. DaMarcus Beasley and Josh Wolff combined to set up Kovalenko's first strike. He took advantage of goalmouth confusion to notch his second.
