The 2001 MLS champion San Jose Earthquakes will make their first appearance in a official international tournament when they meet Honduras’ Olimpia in the round-of-16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup tonight in Miami. Tonight’s game is Olimpia’s “home” leg. The second leg of the two-game series takes place Saturday in Sacramento, Calif. Last year, Olimpia lost to the Los Angeles Galaxy, 3-2, in the FC Champions Cup final. Four MLS teams are in the round of 16. Kansas City faces Trinidad’s W Connection on Sunday. The Wizards won the first leg, in Trinidad, 1-0. The Chicago Fire opens its series against Municipal Saturday in Guatemala. The return leg is on March 20.
