Benny Feilhaber, however, appears to be in no hurry to decide his future as long as he’s taking part in the Olympics with the U.S. team. “[I] will make my decision [later] this month about next season,” he told Kevin Leyland.

Feilhaber remains under contract at Derby County, but the club has given him permission to look elsewhere. “It is my intent to find a new team and [Derby] are aware of this and don’t have a problem with this,” he said. “I am in the process of finding a new club now.”

“It just didn’t work out at Derby. It wasn’t about what I deserved or didn’t. My chance didn’t present itself and the team played a different style than I did. It’s time for me now to find somewhere I’ll play.” Although he’s eligible to return to Bundesliga team SV Hamburg on a free transfer, “Hamburg hasn’t shown any interest in me, so that is not an option.”
