Midfielder Benny Feilhaber has joined the U.S. team for Wednesday night’s first round Gold Cup match against Honduras in Washington, D.C.. Feilhaber, who played in all five U.S. games during the Confederations Cup, will fill one of seven additional roster spots that CONCACAF allotted the team. Feilhaber joins Brad Guzan, Jonathan Bornstein, Sacha Kljestan, Ricardo Clark, Jozy Altidore and Conor Casey as players that won’t travel with the team but are available for individual matches. The 24-year-old Feilhaber first grabbed national headlines when he scored the go-ahead goal in the 2-1 win over Mexico in the 2007 Gold Cup final.
