Freshmen Jason Herrick and Jeremy Hall scored goals in the second half to lead Maryland, ranked No. 6 in the Soccer America Men's Top 25, to a 2-0 victory over visiting Mt. St. Mary's on Wednesday night.
For both Herrick, a Chicago Magic product, and Hall, a former U.S. U-17 resident, it was their third goal of the season. Herrick assisted on Hall's goal, giving him three for the season.
''We had a good response to the loss on Friday,'' Maryland coach Sasho Cirovski said. ''We showed the Mount a lot of respect. We came out here and played some really good soccer. Some of the finishing was a bit off, but the build up and the movement were pretty nice to see.''
Maryland had lost for the first time in 2006 to Clemson last Friday night.
