A former Manchester City trainee goalkeeper faces jail time after pleading guilty to a blackmail charge. Ashley Timms, 22, threatened to publish sexually explicit photographs of an unnamed “Premiership star.”
Prosecutor David Friesner “did not outline the facts of the case but told the court the blackmail victim, referred to as Witness A, had received a number of threats over the sexual images.” Judge Andrew Gilbart said the case “carries inevitably a prison sentence, no doubt about it.”
The goalkeeper is currently without a club having played for Manchester City’s U-19 side. He also had spells at a number of lower English league and non-league clubs.
