AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is starting to sound like Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho, spouting conspiracy theories about referees fixing matches against them. Ancelotti said the mistakes match-officials have been making against his side were “no coincidence” during a press conference after Milan feel, 2-0, to Atalanta. Ancelotti said his club was on the wrong side of two penalty decisions during Sunday’s game and that the club’s patience had run out. The rest of Italy, of course, thinks Milan is finally being treated like a regular Serie A club. “They are starting to protest against the referees…Milan is just going through a psychological crisis,” Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini said. On Sunday, Milan put out a list of mistakes made by referees in its first 10 games of the season. Of course, the list makes no mention of Khaka Kaladze’s equalizer last month against Sampdoria where he used his hand to settle the ball. However, ANSA reports that “much of Italy’s sports media agreed that Milan has been victim of an unusually high number of poor decisions of late.” But many still believe Milan is simply performing poorly. The club’s strikers have not been hitting the target regularly, and, as the report says, its “aging defense is starting to look fragile.”
