Honduras: Honduras won its final warmup before the start of the Hexagonal, beating Club America of Mexico, 1-0, in Houston. Feb. 21 in Houston Honduras 1 Club America (Mexico) 0. Goal: Ramirez 53. Honduras — Valladares, Reyes, Caballero, Medina, Guerrero, M.Suazo, J.L. Pineda, Guevara, De Leon, Nunez, Ramirez. Sub: Bernardez. Club America — H.Pineda, Gonzalez, Gutierrez, Yacuta, Rojas, Castro, Lara, Estay, Oviedo, Zamorano, Toledano. Subs: Mendoza, Santibanez. Jamaica: Reggae Boyz head coach Clovis de Oliveira named 12 foreign-based players for the Hexagonal opener against Trinidad and Tobago. Three play in MLS — Tyrone Marshall (Miami Fusion), Andy Williams (Miami Fusion) and Wolde Harris (New England Revolution) — and the rest play in England — Ricardo Gardner (Bolton Wanderers), Ian Goodison (Hull City), Darryl Powell (Derby County), Deon Burton (Derby County), Jamie Lawrence (Bradford City), Ricardo Fuller (Crystal Palace), Barry Hayles (Fulham), Theodore Whitmore (Hull City) and Junior Busby (Crystal Palace). Lawrence, Hayles and Busby have never played for Jamaica. Lawrence had been in camp last year but Jamaican officials dropped him when they learned of his criminal record as a youth. He trained with Jamaica again before its two games this winter but was unable to play because of a toe injury. The hard-working Bradford City midfielder recently gave $60,0000 to the Steve Malcolm Trust Fund, which will be used to educate the late player’s children. Hayles, who has 17 goals this season for Fulham, just received his Jamaican passport. Busby was called in when the Boyz lost their three keepers with injuries. Donovan Ricketts is recovering and is expected to start against T&T. Mexico: Mexican national team players met with members of the Mexican press to resolve their dispute that has resulted in a boycott of the Mexican. The final stumbling block: The players wanted to maintain a partial boycott against El Universal and Milenio-La Aficion. The agreement calls for five players to show up each day for daily press conferences. Trinidad & Tobago: The Soca Warriors won their final tuneup in England, beating minor league Stevenage Borough, 1-0, on a goal by captain Russell Latapy. T&T is now in the Cayman Islands before heading to Kingston to face Jamaica Feb. 28. The one change in the T&T squad is Kevin Austin for Evans Wise. The former MLS winger remained with his German Third Division club Elversberg at its insistence. T&T plays the Cayman Islands Feb. 25.
