Portland All-American Megan Rapinoe left defending NCAA Division I women's champion Portland's game against Washington State late in the first half Thursday with a left knee injury and did not return.

Rapinoe, who began the week tied for fourth in the country with 10 goals, will have further tests taken to determine the severity of the injury. UP's Stephanie Lopez and Rapinoe were named to the 18-player U.S. national team roster for Sunday's match against Iceland in Richmond, Va. (TV: ESPN, live, 1:55 pm ET).

Washington State gave No. 4 Portland a scare as the Pilots escaped with 2-1 win. UP looked to be in control on first-half goals by Rachael Rapinoe, Megan's twin sister, and Natalie Budge, but the Cougars countered in the 49th minute on Allison Scurich's goal, the first goal the Pilots have given up in 634 minutes.

Portland opens the defense of its WCC title Sunday at Gonzaga.
