Japan's Brazilian coach, Zico, has called up a full-strength team for his team's tour of the United States.

Seven of Japan's eight European-based stars were recalled for the matches against Uruguay March 26 in San Diego and the United States March 29 in Seattle.

Japan's European corps consists of goalkeeper Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi (Portsmouth, England), midfielders Hidetoshi Nakata (Parma, Italy), Shunsuke Nakamura (Reggina, Italy), Junichi Inamoto (Fulham, England) and Shinji Ono (Feyenoord, Netherlands) and strikers Takayuki Suzuki (Genk, Belgium) and Naohiro Takahara (Hamburg, Germany).

Tottenham midfielder Kazuyuki Toda is the only European-based star who won't make the trip.

The only uncapped player is 25-year-old forward Teruaki Kurobe, who helped Kyoto Purple Sanga will the Emperor's Cup on New Year's Day.

Zico, who took over for Frenchman Philippe Troussier after the 2002 World Cup, may go with three in the back, as Troussier did. Zico, who used four defenders in Japan's first two friendlies after the World Cup, has recalled Shimizu S-Pulse defender Ryuzo Morioka, a key member of Troussier's defense. Moriaka has been out with ankle problem.

''America had an excellent World Cup and are going through a good period at the moment,'' Zico said. ''They will be very tough to play at home while Uruguay have always been strong opponents.''

The Japan Football Association reversed its decision to cancel the tour of the West Coast after receiving security assurances from U.S. Soccer. Barring a terrorist attack in the United States, the tour is expected to go forward.
