Barcelona played well but was unable to beat Chelsea in a thrilling Champions League game at the Nou Camp Tuesday night that finished 2-2. A last-gasp goal from Chelsea forward Didier Drogba doubled the trouble for Barcelona, as the draw leaves last year’s European champion in third place in Group A with two games remaining. The crucial match for Barcelona will now be on Dec. 5, when the Catalans face second-place Werder Bremen, which easily beat Levski Sofia 3-0 on Tuesday. “We are the favorites to finish top but it’s too early to say Barcelona are not going to win the Champions League because they are a very strong team,” midfielder Frank Lampard said. The 28-year-old Englishman scored the best goal of the evening, as he turned and lobbed Barca keeper Victor Valdes from an impossible angle just a foot or two inside the touchline. Chelsea came from behind twice, after Deco opened the scoring with a powerful drive outside the Chelsea penalty area. Former striker Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen made it 2-1 after a fantastic individual run and cross from Ronaldinho. Despite Barcelona’s poor Champion’s League form, Lampard says he still expects the defending champ to qualify. “They are one of the best teams in Europe so they have as much chance as we do of winning it,” he said, adding ominously: “We might even have to play them again.”
